A 4 hour road trip and I was there, with my sister and the other bridesmaids in tow. We had arrived in Annapolis, Maryland for my sister’s bachelorette weekend around noon and we were greeted with nasty rainy weather. Most of the photos I was able to snap this weekend were done so in the middle of a rainy gust, but I still think they came out rather beautiful! You will not believe your eyes when you see the place that we called home for the weekend, a rustic barn! The first thing I did when planning this outing was search for lodging. I was so pleasantly surprised to see that this unique barn was open for the weekend we were traveling and really thought it fit my sister’s style completely! We have very similar style, anything rustic and vintage, we are two thumbs up for! I knew that this would be the perfect surprise because she would never expect this!
This barn was a dream come true to pull up to. It was located off of a main road but set far back enough where you felt like you were surrounded by nothing but acres of forest. I will link to the barn rental below for more interior and exterior photos! This place sleeps 10 and has such a great open floor plan for entertaining or just spending cozy family time together. Every detail was thought of when decorating the interior of this home. Every piece of wood, table and chair was thoughtfully placed and went with the rustic barn decor vibe so well! The use of the outdoor smoker grill under a newly built pergola and a large fire pit were seriously the icing on the cake. When we thought it couldn’t get better, there was also a nice little rustic barn like bar area that was covered so we could easily enjoy it even in the not so good weather!
The lighting and props in this home really made me want to take photos everywhere of everything! Here is a photo of my rain boots that I brought thankfully. These came in handy to explore the exterior of the barn and get some really great photos. These boots can be found by clicking HERE !
We headed to a winery that day and even in a light drizzle, the photos came out absolutely breathtaking. I could seriously live on this winery property!
This little seating area was inside their tobacco barn which, do I even need to tell you, left my jaw on the floor when I walked in! Every single detail, like that of the barn we were staying in, was so well thought out. Everything was gorgeous from the fabrics on the pillows, the texture on the reclaimed wood walls and even the small decanter style wine containers that we were served our tasting from, absolutely perfect! Here, the girls and I were served 6 different wines and we were given some snacks to pair them with and a souvenir glass to take home.
My favorite photo that I took that day, this old blue truck. I really love how the tobacco barn sets a wonderful backdrop for this shot. If you are ever in the Annapolis area, definitely visit this winery, you won’t regret it!
From here, we ventured to downtown Annapolis which is home to the United States Naval Academy and St. John’s College. The campus of both of these facilities are stunning. The waterfront location and hip vibe of the downtown area really leave nothing more to be desired. There are a plethora of shops and restaurants. During the day, we made the line to eat at The Iron Rooster, a must! They are known for their homemade pop-tart and it does not disappoint! In the evening, we made our way back here and went bar-hopping and really enjoyed ourselves. It is definitely a place that has something for everyone!
This is the only photo I quickly snapped of the waterfront. The rain was too hard to expose my lens to it for long, although, even dreary like this, I find so much peace in this photo.
I came across this fun mural when walking back to my car from the water. It depicts downtown Annapolis and everything that is wonderful about it 🙂
