Your wedding day is that one special day that you prepare months, maybe even years for. It is perhaps the one day in your life where it’s okay to splurge a little, to indulge a little and to make all of your princess dreams come true. I never dreamed of becoming a princess, but I did dream about these pretty little things for quite some time before I was even engaged. The moment I saw the Sex and the City movie and Mr. Big surprised Carrie with that grandiose closet. I thought I was already in heaven, that was until she displayed the very first pair of shoes on the shelves, a pair of royal blue Manolo Blank Hangisi pumps, only to later be proposed to with those very shoes. Now, yes now I was in heaven! You see, that is why I knew I absolutely needed to make these timeless stunning shoes part of my very own wedding day, and I did, as my something blue.
I really wanted to keep the other details minimal for my wedding day. I chose a pair of Old Hollywood, vintage, Art Deco style earrings that I actually purchased for under $50! Along with that, I wore my aunt’s diamond tennis bracelet for a delicate touch and that’s it! Sometimes, less is more.
My cake was designed along side a fabulous cake designer who actually began his career as an artist, can’t you tell!? We wanted to mimic the color scheme of blush and gold in our cake and he did exactly that. I loved the floral detail at the bottom and the hand drawn lace detail that was made to match the lace pattern on my actual dress. Let’s not forget the most important part, it was deliciously filled with a guava rum filling to match the island feel of our Puerto Rico destination wedding!
High and low floral arrangements of pink and white peonies and roses paired with floating candles and custom table linens really set the mood for a romantic evening with family and friends.
My beautiful hair comb was a great find by my maid of honor at a vintage shop while she was on vacation. I think it really tied the whole look together quiite beautifully! Here is a sneak peek at my guy 🙂
