Complete Neutral Living Room Makeover!

Another day, another makeover in my house! This time we completely redid our living room, the most used room in our home and I am so in love with how it turned out! From drab and old to a beautiful, neutral, very efficient living space…here is how we did it!

Let’s start from the beginning…it was summer 2018 and we finally got the keys to our home. Upon first steps through the door, I realized that the previous owners had left a LOT of their furniture behind, more than we had agreed upon! Normally I would consider this a win but their style wasn’t exactly ours. Needless to say, the living room we saw at the open house is essentially what we stayed with for almost 2 years because we got busy redoing other parts of the house lol

THE BEFORE:

What drew me to this house was all the character and potential I saw in it. I am NOT afraid at all to change/redo things in a home so this was the perfect fit for us! This before though, I must say, not my style lol It felt cluttered, filled with orange toned wood, and a little too earth toned for me with all the browns and greens.

When we were thrown into a mandatory quarantine due to the pandemic, I knew that this would be the perfect time to make all the changes that we have been wanting to make because Lord, we had tons of extra time on our hands and no where to go!

Little by little over the course of 3 months, here’s what we accomplished:

THE AFTER

stairwell in home
living room with couches
living room media console
close up of media table
blanket ladder
corner of living room makeover
full view of entire living room
window view in living room
chandelier and beams in living room

You guys!! I am SO happy with the final product! We also had the wooden beams refinished to be a darker color, before they were a heinous orange wood color 😩. I wanted this space to be functional, relaxing, and something that would last us a long time and I definitely think we achieved that.

I have done my best to link everything seen in these photos below or similar items to them below ⬇️
