Girls Trip to Nashville!

MUSIC CITY!!! One of my favorite places that I have ever had the pleasure of visiting not once, but twice! Country music fan or not, Nashville is a place filled with wonderful southern fare, kind people, and a no shortness of fun! Being a country music fanatic was just the icing on the cake for me 🙂 I first traveled here two years ago for my birthday with my husband and we had an amazing time. This time, however, was a girls trip with my cousin and my sister. Nashville is a wonderful place for a weekend girls trip for many reasons.

Here’s a few reasons why you should grab some girlfriends and head on over to the birth place of country music (and cowboys 😉) :

  • Flights will not cost you an arm and a leg! (I have booked mine both times for under $300!)
  • AirBnB has many inexpensive options in Nashville and that makes the trip an even better bang for your buck! Our wonderful AirBnB, it was so close to everything, literally a 10 minute drive in any direction and you were exactly where you wanted to be! It was also so reasonably priced! Check it out here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/19171446
  • LOWER BROADWAY!!!!! Picture a mini country themed time square…there is truly something for everyone here, yes even a hip hop bar which my cousin was grateful for hahaha
  • The scenery is absolutely stunning when you venture just a tad outside of the downtown area…picturesque farms and plantations everywhere, truly gorgeous!
  • None of the places we visited on lower broadway ever had a cover charge, not sure if this is a normal thing there since where I live there is always some sort of cover charge unless you’re on a special guest list… needless to say we were pleasantly surprised.
  • The people are here are SO KIND! I’m talking door holding, please and thank you’s, letting you into the lane when you are about to miss your exit kind of “kind”! haha This never happens up in Jersey…then again I say this whenever I travel, maybe Jersey is just overly harsh lol
  • If you are into country music, it’s literally everywhere….the boots, the hats, the music, the history..it’s all right here in Nashville! (Oh, and every bar we went to, I think 11 in all, ALL had live country music, such a great way to discover new artists and hear some kick butt covers of some fan favorites!)
  • Lastly, but not least, the amazing southern food. I ate more Nashville hot chicken this weekend than ever before. Think biscuits and gravy, hot chicken, macaroni and cheese, bbq everything. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! 🤤

Travel Tips and Places to Visit:

Places:

  1. Belle Meade Plantation: Breathtaking grounds, a wine tasting included in each tour and history, what more could one ask for?
  2. Country Music Hall of Fame: These artists made it to the hall of fame for a reason, such a fun place to visit!
  3. The Grand Ole Opry: Do the Opry tour, it’s well worth it, you learn so much, see some of the most famous country music artist’s actual dressing rooms, and even get to go on stage and face the crowd, you know, get your country music artist dreams out of the way! lol
  4. The Parthenon: A to scale replica of the actual Parthenon in Greece!
  5. The Blue Bird Cafe : Amazing little spot for good food but even better live performances in an intimate environment.Get tickets online the week before you plan on being here to avoid the line, because there will be one, and it will be LONG!
  6. Pinewood Social : Food and Bowling!! In the warmer months they have an airstream that serves food and a soaking tub outside, super cool and a great place too snag cool photos!
  7. Country Music Crawler Pedal Tavern : This was SO MUCH FUN!!! This is the only pedal tavern with backs on the seats which I feel is pretty important when you’re drinking, stability is everything, no? haha I definitely recommend if you’re on a girls trip of any sorts, you NEED to do this, its truly unforgettable and you will laugh so much your stomach will hurt the next day!

Food:

  1. The Loveless Cafe: About a 20 minute drive away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but well worth it, I promise! Try the biscuits with homemade jams and you will totally get why this is number one on my food list! 😉
  2. Hattie B’s Hot Chicken: Because no trip to Nashville is complete without a visit to Hattie B’s for some hot chicken and sweet tea! (another great option for amazing hot chicken is Prince’s hot chicken)
  3. Acme Feed & Seed: two floors of amazing food and music!
  4. Puckett’s : Fried pickles here are amazing!! So is the BBQ 🙂
  5. Edley’s BBQ: For that real smoked BBQ flavor, head here…its about as real as BBQ gets!

My next trip is coming up veryyyy soon! This time there will be beaches and palm trees…any guesses where? 😃
