Splurge: Louis Vuitton Favorite PM

Well, well, well..my very first “Pretty Things” post on my blog! I thought this would the perfect time to feature one of my favorite pieces lately, my Louis Vuitton Favorite PM in the absolutely stunning damier ebene pattern.
I’m not one of those women who feels the need to label hoarder. I don’t absolutely need a handbag or a pair of shoes just because it’s from a specific designer, and trust me, I am all about a fabulous deal (more to come on that!). My husband saw that I had been eyeing this handbag for a while, in fact, almost a year! When I am thinking of splurging on something, I really like to take my time, do the research, and sleep on it. I like to ask myself:

“Is this a versatile piece? and “Does it have a good resale value?”

I prefer to buy classic timeless pieces if I am going to spend a pretty penny on them. You will almost never find me in a designer piece of clothing because guess what? The chances of me getting a return on my investment is slim. Accessories, however, are a little different when it comes to reselling. I have found that often times one can make back up to 80% or more on a classic designer accessory if taken care of properly!

This handbag is a classic Louis Vuitton print, and was almost impossible to find when I decided on it. After calling 6 stores across America with no sign of this bag, I had decided it was better to wait it out, maybe it wasn’t meant to be. Perhaps after getting the delivery, it was that much more special because of all I went through (or rather my husband) to get my hands on it. The Favorite PM pairs perfectly with any outfit, really. I wore it shoulder bag style to a wedding last night, in fact! I have been using it as my everyday bag by throwing the cross body strap on and have even worn it as a clutch on other occasions, now talk about versatility! It fits my phone, a lipgloss, and my keys and credit cards perfectly. This little gem is an all around winner!

The Details:

  • Sari Bordeaux lining
  • Interior flap pocket
  • Gold hardware
  • Removable leather shoulder strap
  • Magnetic closure with gorgeous Louis Vuitton name plate
  • 9.4 x 5.5 x 1.6 inches

Tip: If you are going to store lipgloss or anything of that sort in a bag like this, I really like to pop it into a tiny ziplock bag before throwing it in the bag. It may not be the fanciest way of transporting it, but I would never want to risk any leakage on to that beautiful canvas interior. This will also depreciate the value should you ever want to sell one day. I will do another post soon about shopping pre-loved fashion and how I sold my Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 online 🙂

Writing this post has made me realize once again how absolutely spectacular this little bag is! I can’t wait to share more of my favorite pieces with you, both splurges and steals!
