Travel Fashion: What I Wore in the Dominican Republic!

Dominican Republic Fashion

It’s finally here!! All of the fashion pieces I wore while traveling to the Dominican Republic! I am freshly back from my Sister in Law’s wedding and feeling so refreshed and grateful!  I knew that this resort would be so picturesque and that I would want to take a ton of photos, but what else is new haha. I had never been to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic before but I knew that it was a tropical destination which meant that it would be hot and HUMID! That being said, I was sure to pack accordingly choosing lots of two piece sets, rompers, and dresses.

Attending a destination wedding is so much fun not only because everyone gets to be together on a big vacation, but because of all the fun times leading up to the big day. I myself had a destination wedding in Puerto Rico and I loved the lead up to the big day with all of my family and friends! My sister in law planned some fun activities for everyone including a welcome BBQ and some excursions off of the resort. For the welcome BBQ, which was hosted on the beach itself, I chose to wear something that I was comfortable in, and that I could easily pair with sandals that I could wear on the beach (although I ended up taking them off anyway 😉). Here’s what I chose:

This two piece set not only set the vibe for the tropics…hello, I blend in with the resort foliage hahaha but I got so many compliments and it was SO comfortable because it was shorts so I didn’t have to worry about he beach breeze blowing it up! 😊 I paired it with my favorite bag which I wore with EVERY outfit this trip. I will link it below 😉

Each day of my vacation, I was poolside or beachside, that goes without saying! I got a killer tan because there is nothing like that tropical sun! Even with SPF 50 and a few overcast moments, I am still super golden ☀️ I typically go for a bandeau top to avoid tan lines, but this time since I knew I would be with family and children, I wanted to be able to move around and not worry about having any “slips” lol I really liked the look of these two sports bra style tops. I simply took the straps down while I was laying out to tan, and slipped them back up when I was in the pool chasing my nephews 😃 I loved how secure they felt and this style of top is really on trend right now!

The day following the wedding, we had a final family dinner planned at a restaurant inside the resort. With my new golden tan in tow, I knew it was the prefect time to wear this absolutely gorgeous pom pom romper. It has such a vacation vibe with the little pom poms and the off the shoulder detail. I put my hair back in a braid after a fresh shower, a trick I did many times on this trip to try and avoid the humidity. It also works out wonderfully because the next day or later that evening, I can take out the braid and have not only tame hair, but gorgeous beach waves with no heat damage!

Finally on the last morning before we headed to the airport, I wore this black and white striped off the shoulder midi length dress. I loved how effortless it looked and I even wore it to the airport because it was so comfortable!

Do you see a trend with all of my outfits? They are all accompanied by this gorgeous little rattan bag! I highly recommend this bag, I especially liked that it had a cloth lining inside so that when the bag was cracked open, nothing would fall out! Check it out by clicking HERE !
