DIY: Baby Shower Prizes People Actually Want!

gift baskets for baby shower

Take it from me, having been to a million baby and bridal showers has proven one thing. If the prizes aren’t great, the games are a drag! My sister’s baby shower is around the corner so I wanted to take this opportunity to create a few prizes that I knew people would actually want! I created this gift basket by visiting just one store, WIN! If you’re interested in seeing how this came out and where I purchased everything from, keep scrolling 😊

wine, cheese, crackers, olives

The theme for this prize was wine 🍷! I know wine isn’t for everyone, but I was sure to supplement by having other themes for the other prizes. As the weather gets warmer, I picture using this prize to create an impromptu picnic, a night cap with your loved one, or even a girls night! Everything you need to wind down is right here in this basket!

World Market has been my one stop shop for gift baskets for as long as I can remember. They have gift basket kits that include the filler and the plastic wrap (they even include a gift tag!). I really like the options World Market has for the beginner basket maker as well. There is an entire section of trial size items that have to do with anything from coffee to wine. It is truly the perfect way to get creative but not stress too much about running to a million stores to make it come together. This is where I found all of the items that I included 😃

The Breakdown:

  • Sangria House Wine in a Can: In Stores at World Market
  • Tiamo Rosé in a Can: In Stores at World Market
  • Mini Red Wine Bottle: In Stores at World Market
  • Mini Moscato Wine Bottle: In Stores at World Market
  • Country Archer Beef Jerky: HERE!
  • “Oloves” Olives: HERE!
  • Carr’s Crackers: HERE!
  • Fennel Salami: HERE!

You’re going to want to lay out all of the products on the table first. Using a bunch of trial and error just keep placing the items in different places in the basket until you get to a visually appealing look. In this basket I also went ahead and added two stemless drinking glasses that I grabbed from HomeGoods for under $10. You can’t drink wine without glasses, right?! I ended up placing the cans of wine in those two glasses and they fit wonderfully! One tip I have is to place something between the glass products. This is so that they aren’t clanking against one another during transport. For this I made sure to have the cheeses, olives or meats as a bumper between those glass products 👍🏽

The final product turned out perfect! Not only is it visually appealing, but the products are great quality. People will be able to tell the thought that went into the gift making it even more special! I finished it off with a gift tag that had the quote “time to wine down”.

Another great thing to include in here would be a bar of chocolate, and a small cheese board or cheese knife set! I am all about quality over quantity so although this basket wasn’t “cheap”, it’s one that people will actually WANT to win. 😉 The more people want to win, the more engaged and excited they will be to play those shower games! 🙌🏽

What do you think of this basket? What other themed baskets do you think would work for a baby or bridal shower prize? I think I am going to be making a lot more of these in the future. I had so much fun making this one! ☺️
